The Barstow's family farm is in south central Kansas.  Neri's parents, Marlan and
Shirley, purchased the ranch in Nebraska in 1976.  Patty is a native of western Keya
Paha County, growing up on a ranch 25 miles northwest of their current home.

In 1987 the Angus herd was moved from Kansas to the ranch near Springview and
the AI program was started.  Neri and Patty acquired their first registered Angus
heifers in 1988 from Marlan.  In 2001 Marlan and Shirley moved to Nebraska and
bought a home in Springview to be closer to the ranch.  Together, along with Wyatt
and Austin they maintain a herd of 2
20 registered cows.  The Barstow's first bull sale
auction was held on a very cold day in March, 1992.  It is now held each year, the
second Monday in March.

Although ranching is their first priority, the Barstow's also spend considerable time
on the road with Neri, Wyatt and Austin all taking part in rodeos and team roping
competitions.  Both Wyatt and Austin rodeoed in high school and qualified for the
national finals.  Austin also achieved a state championship in team roping.  Wyatt
graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney where he played four-years as a
wide-receiver on the Loper football team while earning his degree in exercise
science.  In May of 2011 he married Amanda Fisher and after living in Texas for 2 1/2
years while Amanda completed her studies in occupational therapy they have
returned to the ranch.  In May of 2012 they blessed our family with a little boy, Wylie
Neri.  Wyatt has resumed his rodeoing focusing on saddle bronc riding. In
November of 2011 he awarded the Texas Cowboy Rodeo Association Saddle Bronc
Champion.
In 2016 he was the champion saddle bronc rider in the Midstate Rodeo
Assn and runner-up champion in both the Nebraska State Rodeo Assn and Kansas
Pro Rodeo Assn.
Austin attended college in Texas and rodeoed for Vernon College
while earning an applied science degree in business.  He then completed his
bacholars degree
in ag education/relations at Montana State University where he
rodeoed for the Bobcats.  He competed in calf roping and team roping and qualified
for the College National Finals Rodeo.  He and Sierra now make their home in
Texas.  The rodeo talent was inherited from their father as Neri also rodeoed
extensively as a young man focusing on the rough stock events.  At thirteen years
old, he was a Little Britches World Champion, then went on to be a high school
champion as well as a Mid-States Rodeo Association all-around champion.

Neri has served on the board of the Nebraska Angus Association and has been
selected as a Nebraska Delegate for the past
several years at the National Angus
Convention.  Patty is also involved outside of her ranch-wife duties.  She owns a tax
preparation and accounting business and serves on several economic and
community development boards.
